In Planet Coaster: Simulation Evolved for PC, the gameplay focuses on creating modern-day roller coasters – other contents play a supporting role here. When designing the amusement park, the player is free to decide about the outlook of the place and what do the previously mentioned roller coasters look like. It is completely up to the player to decide about the number of corners or their height in a given roller coaster as well. The game features a 3D mode allowing to view the roller coaster freely and apply modifications to it.

In Planet Coaster: Simulation Evolved for PC, the player is also required to keep economic aspects of running an amusement park in mind. By setting the ticket prices in particular sectors, the player tries to gain additional funds in order to expand the business. However, the process is complex, for the visitors have their demands - to enlarge the profit and give the customers a reason to come back, the player has to take care of their needs incessantly in order to satisfy them.
