In DiRT Showdown, we sit behind the wheel of licenses and fictional vehicles to take part in a grand motorshow. The developers put emphasis on spectacular gameplay, arcade driving model, and impressive scenes. Omnipresent destruction is also an important part of the production. While playing, we have to fight for the best scores and survive against opponents that stop at nothing. Showdown features many polished and varied tracks located in such locations as Colorado, London, San Francisco, Yokohama, and Michigan. Most of them have the form of closed arena with an audience which is supposed to intensify the atmosphere of a show and competition. In the game, there are three car types at our disposal: racing vehicles, trucks, and buggies. The artists made sure that every one of them gets damaged in collisions in a spectacular fashion. The game features several modes divided into three categories: the Hoonigan challenges, demolition, and standard racing. The first group includes Smash Hunters (breaking objects), Trick Rush (performing stunts), and Head 2 Head (competing for the best score). Demolition takes place in the Rampage mode (destroying other cars), Hard Target (escaping a pursuit), and King of the Road (a round Destruction Derby arena). Racing involves such activities as Lap Attack, Eliminator, and Domination.
