Renting out your GPU in 2026 means AI tasks. AI EARN pays many times more than mining

Renting out your GPU means letting someone else's computations use your graphics card, for a fee. In 2026 the best-paying work for it is AI tasks, not mining. AI EARN in the GamerHash AI app pays 7.4 times (RTX 3090) to 20.3 times (RTX 4060 Ti 16GB) more per task hour than the same card mines in an hour. An RTX 4090: $0.41 per task hour at 100% work, $0.03 mining.

Renting out your GPU in 2026 means AI tasks: they pay 7 to 20 times more than mining

For years, "sharing GPU power" meant crypto mining: the card worked on a network's blocks and the owner got the mined coins, or their value from a middleman. In 2026 the money for GPU time comes mostly from AI tasks, such as generating images and animations.

The gap is wide on every card. An RTX 4090 mines $0.03 an hour on Zano, the highest-revenue coin for it. In AI EARN the same card gets $0.41 per task hour at 100% work, 13.7 times more. Even the RTX 3090, a card from the Ethereum mining days, gets 7.4 times more in AI EARN than from mining.

Mining pays in a coin whose price and network difficulty change every day. AI EARN credits your balance in GUSD, worth 1 USD. Full comparison of cards and coins.

An RTX 5070 Ti mines $15 a month around the clock, while rented out in AI EARN it makes $119 at 12 task hours a day. Download the GamerHash AI app.

Rent your GPU for money: $58 to $189 a month in AI EARN, mining $29 at most

Your AI EARN rate depends on your card's performance in AI tasks. Billing is per second: a single task lasts from 4 seconds to 20 minutes, and the app pays for the exact runtime. You see the rate before a task starts.

Newer cards earn noticeably more: the RTX 3090 gets $0.16 per task hour and the RTX 5090 $0.52, both at 100% work. The table puts mining the highest-revenue coin on the same card, around the clock, next to it.

How GPU sharing works in GamerHash AI: the app takes AI tasks while your PC is idle

You share your GPU for money through the free GamerHash AI app for Windows 11. After a one-time setup (downloading the AI models and switching on the EARN module), the app works in the background and picks up tasks whenever your PC is idle. No rig, no pool and no wallet to start.

Every completed task is credited to your balance right away in GUSD, an internal unit equal to 1 USD. You can spend it in the GamerHash Store on games and gift cards, or swap it for crypto and withdraw it to your own wallet.

  • What your card computes: AI tasks such as generating images and animations. No crypto mining.
  • What you are paid for: every second your card spends on a task. Waiting for a task is not paid.
  • When tasks come: when there is demand for them, so your task hours change from day to day.
  • Your consent: the app uses your PC's power only with your consent and only for AI tasks. You switch the EARN module on and off yourself.

Setup takes less than 5 minutes, and an RTX 5080 then makes $131 a month in AI EARN at 12 task hours a day. Mining around the clock, it would make $21. Download the GamerHash AI app.

You can rent out NVIDIA RTX GPUs with at least 16 GB of VRAM

Earning in AI EARN works on NVIDIA cards only; AMD and Intel cards are not supported. Whether a card takes paid tasks depends on two numbers: the card's memory (VRAM) and your PC's RAM. Full hardware requirements.

  • At least 24 GB VRAM and 32 GB RAM, any generation: RTX 3090, RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 4090 and RTX 5090.
  • 16 GB VRAM and 64 GB RAM, RTX 40 and 50 series only: RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, RTX 4070 Ti Super, RTX 4080, RTX 4080 Super, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080.
  • Below 16 GB VRAM (e.g. the 12 GB RTX 3060, RTX 4070 or RTX 5070) the card takes no paid tasks. The app's local AI features run on it for free.
  • System: Windows 11 64-bit, 100 GB of free disk space for the models, and TPM 2.0.

Even the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, the 16 GB card with the lowest rate in the table, makes $62 a month in AI EARN at 12 task hours a day, while mining around the clock brings in $6. Check your card in the calculator.

Sharing your GPU doesn't stop you gaming: switch earning off with one click

AI tasks use the full GPU, so earning and gaming don't run at the same time. If you launch a game while the EARN module is running, the app notices, warns you that your VRAM is in use and asks you to close either the game or the module. Switching earning off takes one click, and full performance is back right away. Turn it on again when you're done playing.

You collect the most task hours when the PC is on and you're not using it: overnight, at work, at school. The load is comparable to a long gaming or rendering session, so keep good airflow and up-to-date NVIDIA drivers.

An RTX 4080 working in AI EARN while you don't game makes $119 a month at 12 task hours a day. Download the GamerHash AI app.

Renting out your GPU vs mining: 1.8 AI task hours make what a full day of mining does

Mining only makes money while the card works around the clock. That way an RTX 4090 mines $22 a month. In AI EARN about 1.8 task hours a day make the same amount, and at 12 task hours the card gets $148.

The other cards in the table look the same: 1.2 to 3.3 AI task hours a day replace a full day of mining, at 100% work. The rest of the day your PC is free, or keeps earning.

Mining needs software, a pool and a wallet, and the mined coins still have to be sold. In AI EARN your earnings land on your account balance right away.

The RTX 5090 gets $0.52 per task hour in AI EARN at 100% work, against $0.04 for an hour of mining. Work out your card.

How to rent out your GPU: 3 steps

Renting out your GPU: FAQ

  • In AI EARN the cards in our table make $58 (RTX 3090) to $189 (RTX 5090) a month at 12 task hours a day and 100% work, before the power bill. That is 7.4 to 20.3 times more per hour than mining on the same cards. Actual earnings depend on your card, how long the app runs and demand for tasks.
